Status of compliance with requirements
We strive to adapt our website in accordance with the Accessibility Act (in its current version), which implements the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) regarding accessibility requirements for products and services. In doing so, we have adhered to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, to the greatest extent possible.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
1. Color contrast
Due to the chosen corporate design, some text elements and links do not meet the required minimum contrast ratios (e.g., elements with colored backgrounds or hover states).
2. Video elements without subtitles
Videos currently lack subtitles or text alternatives (transcripts). Consequently, the content is not fully accessible to deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals. Retrofitting existing videos would be disproportionate; however, we are working on a solution for future content.
3. Navigation and keyboard operability
Full keyboard navigation is not yet guaranteed across all sections of the website. Certain interactive elements (e.g., drop-down menus or modal windows) do not offer optimal focus handling.
4. PDF Documents
PDF files published before March 5, 2026, do not consistently meet accessibility requirements (e.g., missing tags, structural information). Due to resource constraints, there are currently no plans to retroactively make these documents accessible.
We are continuously working to optimize our website and plan to address these issues gradually.
5. AI-Generated Alternative Text for images
Some of the alternative text (alt text) used for images on this website is generated using artificial intelligence (AI). This alternative text serves to make image content accessible to blind and visually impaired users via screen readers.
Although the AI systems used are carefully selected, automatically generated image descriptions may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. We regularly review and improve this alternative text and strive to continuously enhance its quality.

If you do not receive a satisfactory response via the contact channel mentioned above, you may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints submitted electronically via its contact form.
The FFG reviews these complaints to determine whether they relate to violations of the Web Accessibility Act—specifically, failures to meet accessibility requirements—by the federal government or an entity attributable to it.
If the complaint is justified, the FFG issues recommendations for action to the federal government or the relevant entities and proposes measures to remedy the identified deficiencies.
